Dyslexia in Brief
Dr Daryl Greaves TPTC, BA, B Ed, PG Dip Ed Admin, MA, PhD, MAPs - is an Educational Psychologist and specialist in Learning Disabilities. In April 2009, BOLD held a very successful eveininb with Dr Daryl Greaves conducting an informative evening with around 200 people in attendance including families, eduational and allied health staff. This provided an opportunity for staff and families to improve their understanding about Dyslexia and a platform for them to work together.
In April and July 2009, BOLD worked closely to support SPELD Victoria to provide the following 3 professional training programs, within the city of Greater Bendigo.

Understanding Right Brain Learners
Denise Smith - Whole Brain Workout- presented information about Right Brain Learners on Monday 19 October 2009. Denise believes that children who struggle with learning in the current education system are often right brain learners. Denised aimed to provide parents a better understanding of their child's learning style, discuss challenges and provide examples of strategies and techniques that assist right brain learners with their spelling and overall learning. BOLD also displayed items purchased with the community grant money from the City of Greater Bendigo, which included computer programs, books and DVDs.
